Every Monday after playtime, Room 10 do diary writing. This is a recount of what they have done in the weekend.
Here is Noah Cooks fantastic diary entry for Monday 14th March 2011
Dear Diary
In the weekend I went to the museum and I wore two costumes. The first costume was a tremendous skink and the second was a very big beetle when I was wearing them they felt hot and itchy.
It was fun at the museum because I saw the biggest egg I have ever seen, it was a kiwi egg. I learnt that Richard Pearce was the first New Zealander to make and fly a aircraft.
Also that moa's were the tallest bird that ever lived and a moa's legs are tremendously big (they are even taller than me).
My favourite native animal is a kiwi and a kea because a kiwi has a long beak and kea has the curved beak.
I LOVE NZ!

Room 10 for 2011
Welcome to Room 10's Blog for 2011. We have had a great start to the year and we all get on really well. In our class we have 27 Fantiddlytastic children and 1 great teacher.
This year we are going to work really hard and make sure we always try our best, and of course we will have a lot of fun along the way.
Our student councilors are Mia Parker and Zac McLennan, this year we also have vice student councilors. These are Makyla Brown and Zek Spurr-Ross. These children were voted by the class because they show the Bluestone values and we think they are awesome.
We all hope you enjoy 2011, and we look forward to sharing some awesome work on our blog.
From all the children in Room 10 and Miss Dobson.

Team Explorer Sustainability Musical Showcase
This term Team Explorer children have been working on a musical showcase. This involved everyone singing three songs, performing a song on the recorder and individual class performances. Room 7 performed a Maori song, Room 8 did a rap about recycling, Room 9 did a recycling song, and we sang an awesome song called 'Pots and Pans'.
We had to have two practices on the stage, and then on we performed to all our parents and family. We were all proud of ourselves and had lots of fun.

On Monday we are going to the Rocky Shore to pick up rubbish. We are going to have some parent helpers. Im excited because my nana is going to be a helper. We have learnt about some unsafe rubbish and safe rubbish. If we find rubbish that is dangerous we do not touch it. Someone waits beside the rubbish and the other person goes and gets a teacher or parent helper.

Yesterday in Room 10 we worked with clay for art. We are learning to make a cloak out of clay. First we rolled the clay into a ball, then we put a hole in the middle with our thumb. Next we had to use some tools to practice making patterns in the clay. One thing i found out was that your not allowed to handle the clay lots or it will break and dry out. I am looking forward to next wednesday when it is art time.

In Room 10 we have finished our cloaks they look fantastic, and they are all different which is good. We got the idea from the artist Reuben Patterson . He doesn't just paint with paint he also paints with glitter.
Not long ago Miss Dobson put up the Wall of Excellence. She puts peoples good work on it. There are three people on the wall of excellence so far. As a whole class we have been discussing the topic 'We don't know how lucky we are'. We need to remember we have a great school and a great classroom with lots of cool stuff in it. If we show respect and look after things then they will last longer and we will be able to enjoy them more. Room 10 are lucky to have Miss Dobson as are teacher.
